gratitude

My mother turns 85 this week and I wished to gift her an illustration for her birthday. My mother loves music so I began to draw a soft, whimsical musical note.  As the early morning sunbeams kissed my face, I felt my mothers love seep into every part of my being and I was caught in a flow of pure joy as my pencil danced gracefully across the paper, creating our deep love and oneness.

My mothers love has allowed me to love and be loved. Not only did my mother shower me with her love, she gifted me another precious gift – the freedom to be me. Never questioning or judging, always supporting.

As a child I was surrounded by creativity. Both my parents were art teachers and nurtured my creativity at a very early age. We would sing as a family and record our songs and my father was forever being creative with his hands on indoor and outdoor projects that he involved us in.

We are of the Earth

My mother and father gifted me another precious and sacred gift – time in nature. Most weekends were spent hiking up the local hills and discovering the magical wonders of the natural world. These rich authentic experiences fostered a deep and passionate love affair with Mother Earth.

I feel most spiritually connected when in nature. This pure, abundant love fills my heart and makes my spirit dance – making my creativity flow like a warm liquid of pure joy.

me-and-mum

My mother lives back in Scotland and I miss her dearly. There isn’t a day that goes by that I do not think of her and feel her love. I am so grateful for her unconditional love and understanding; for nurturing my creativity and for sharing the abundant beauty and wonder of our natural world with me. And for being there for me, always.

Full of deep gratitude, all my love, Marghanita x
