All life on earth, and the earth itself, is sacred.

Help your children to fall in Love with Nature.

Inspiring a love for nature will lead to a desire to protect it.

Chief Seattle delivered a compelling message to the government in Washington nearly 150 years ago. He believed all life on earth, and life itself, is sacred, and that man’s heedless abuse of nature will lead to his own destruction.

Jas-Earth-Day-Card

“Every part of this earth is sacred to my people.  Every shining pine needle, every sandy shore, every mist in the dark woods, every clearing, and every humming insect is holy in the memory and experience of my people.  The sap which courses through the trees carries the memories of the red man.”

“This we know:  All things are connected.  Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth.  Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it.  Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.”

Chief Seattle

Yes. So true. And so sad that it’s taken us so long to begin relearning what we should have known all along!

Indeed it is sad.

What a beautiful, eloquent post. I make it a point not just to be in nature with my little ones, but to share with them why I find nature so magical. My hope is that they will find their own connections as they grow and continue to do their part to protect planet earth.
