There are certain trees that whisper to you – whisper your name – inviting you to join them in communion. It is the spirit of the tree connecting with your spirit – a beautiful energy force.

Climbing high up into the Golden Birches in our back garden was probably my earliest powerful “connection” with nature as a child. The trees gifted me freedom. The higher I climbed, the more free I became. Resting on my favourite branch, I felt safe in the arms of the graceful Birch. When she swayed, I swayed with her and we became one. She cradled me with love.

That love and deep rooted connection with trees has never left me, in fact it has grown deeper and more powerful over the years.

When we moved to BC, Canada, it was the beautiful Ponderosa Pines that whispered to me.

night tree spirit

I was inspired to create this life sized “Tree Spirit” sculpture after a most magical encounter with one of the Pondersa Pines that dance majestically in our backyard. What a joy it was to create the Ponderosa Tree Spirit.

The Creative Pulse within Us is God’s Creative Pulse Itself

– Joseph Chilton Pearce

I feel at home sitting underneath the red-barked giants reading or meditating during the warm summer days.

Autumn and it’s golden glow gifts a carpet of golden pine needles and it is at this time of year, that the other trees whisper invitations to play with their abundant treasure

 and make into soulful art.

With every season comes a new posse of stick people…poppies and rosehip characters emerge with the birth of Autumn.

And in the winter months, the Ponderosa dazzle me with their sparkling white coats.

What tree whispers to you?

The trees are sacred. They provide food and shelter to so many; shade and abundant beauty; cleaner air, they gift us life. They make our hearts sing and our spirit dance. What an honor it is, to share our lives with these beautiful beings. Full of Gratitude and Appreciation.
