We live in Montana, US. My boys (1.5 and 3) love wading in creeks, hiking, throwing rocks in lakes and anything involving sticks.
Hi Mel
Sticks have always been a favorite with my boys too. Without fail, Sam will always find a stick on our visits to the forest -they have so many uses!
Thanks for sharing. Will be sending you a copy of the printable booklet once it’s complete!
This Dragonfly Boy is from California, USA. He says, “I enjoy fishing in the ocean with my grandpa, uncle, and dad because you can let the sound of the waves calm you and practice your patience while waiting for fish. The best part is when you catch the prize fish. Everyone goes up cheering and wondering how much luck you’re gonna have next time. That’s my favorite thing about fishing.”
we live in southern california. we love to go to the beach! and we love to have picnics..
I love this Michele. What wonderful memories to treasure. I can visually see your Dragonfly Boy having so much fun fishing with his family members. Thank you for sharing. Can’t wait to add this outdoor activity to the booklet.
I’m a mother to three girls, but I’m befriended with my neighbours, especially Chris, a 7y old boy. Last year we went butterfly-catching. He was so good, he caught them and new the names of the different species better then I did at the end of the summer.
And my nephews live at a farm and dig holes all summer long. To catch thieves and so on. One nephew (8y) found an old arrow-point, so special, 2000y old. So he wants to become a professional archeologist in the future and got himself a metal-detector. Cool!
We live in the U.S. in California and my 5 year old says his favorite summertime outdoor activities are playing in the water, taking hikes, skipping rocks in the river and playing outside until it gets dark. He thinks treasure hunts are fun, too!
Collecting bugs with all the students who come visit us at the Wildlife Presrve.
Hi Clare, collecting bugs is a big favorite. Bet you discover some really cool bugs at the wildlife preserve. Happy bug hunting with your students.
Thanks for your comment-bug hunting will now be added to the booklet.

I live IN ONTARIO, CANADA! EH!
One of our favorite activities is catching bugs. This year we have a lot of dragonflies. The cicadas were fun for a while but we are glad they finally seem to be leaving.
