Most of our weekends are spent with nature…a family walk in the woods, mountain biking in the forest or simply enjoying the backyard birds. Now that the schools are back, it’s even more important to have that time appreciating nature with the family.
This Saturday was a trip to a local Winery – Quails Gate Winery Harvest Fair

Annabel Stanley Vine and Willow Weaving and Sculptures -Loved this piece!
Then it was off to pick up Jasmine and Samuel’s brother who was refereeing a soccer match. We arrived early so we took a short walk along the Marsh. Yes you’ve probably guessed by now, I am obsessed with Dragonflies and Butterflies and at any given opportunity I will go looking for them.

First we spotted Damselflies…

Lots of stunning Damselflies

And just as many Dragonflies but they didn’t stop for us to get a good closeup.

Just around the corner, to our delight a small painted turtle appeared….

…Gosh, could nature get any better…..

…Then it just did

A Magnificent Heron stood before us. We’d never been so close to one.

Just another Saturday afternoon with the family and nature….Awesome!
Remember you don’t have to travel far to find nature, your backyard or local park have so many little treasures waiting to be discovered.
