For me, Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a Robin Redbreast. When I was young-I loved to watch and listen to the Robins in the back garden. My mother wrote a song about the cheeky little bird which she sang to us every Christmas.
We have been making Rocking Robins for years now. Made out of old [...]

An Alternative Snowman
A lonely tree stump is transformed into a Happy snowman…thanks to Samuel.
Armed with an old squeezy bottle filled with food coloring-Samuel dashes outside again for more snow fun.
Painting in the snow.
We had never even thought about this fantastic outdoor activity until @activekidsclub mentioned it.
All you need are some old squeezy bottles and spray [...]

It was two of my wonderful nature loving twitter friends: @wildchild and @activekidsclub- that inspired us to make some ice ornaments. We decided [...]

At Christmas time I love to give gifts that are meaningful. Books are a big favorite along with arts and crafts.
The Little Humbug gifts were inspired by fun things I enjoy doing with my own children. Rock hunting, gardening, bird watching, arts & crafts, collecting fallen petals and making them into potions. My hope is [...]

My New Creative Space… well, until snow falls!
Being a children’s author and illustrator, I need a tranquil space in order to be creative. From early Spring to late Fall/Autumn, weather permitting, I can usually be found sketching and writing outside on the picnic bench or the outdoor dining table.
However lately, thanks to my youngest son, [...]
