Fun things to do with kids during Earth Hour … Head Outdoors!
RECYCLE: Make Lanterns using old glass jars. Let the kids draw their own Earth Hour (I love my planet) designs on the jars using a non smudge pen (permanent marker)
Make Music under the stars.
Sing and Dance…Where the Wild Things Are!
The Beatles are a family favorite.
I am a Walrus “I am the eggman, they are the eggmen. I am the walrus, goo goo g’joob goo goo g’joob goo…….”
Sam and Jasmine love to make up their own music too.
There’s something so MAGICAL about being outdoors, sitting around a campfire or candlelight listening to live music.
Board Games are even more fun to play outdoors.
Or try an alternative to scrabble….
Collect a bucket full of small pebbles during the day.
Using a permanent marker, let the kids write their names using one pebble for each letter in their name. Now mix up all the letters and see how many words they can make using their name.
What will you be doing for Earth Hour? We’d love you to share your Earth Hour fun.
Happy Earth Hour Everyone!
