Friday 24th July: Design your own Clay Bugs and Mini “My Bug” story booklet

We will begin with a bug story, then go on a bug hunt. We will create our very own bugs using clay and natural items found from nature. We will then create a short story and illustrate it in our mini booklet.

Connecting the Child to Mother Earth’s Heart

In our classes we help foster a deep love and connection with nature. Encouraging children to explore and celebrate their unique sense of creativity.

Monday 20th July: Sun-catchers, Love Heart Trees and Mindful Pebbles
Celebrating the “elements” we will create sun-catchers. We will make heart shaped trees and each child will create their own mindful pebbles and felt pouch to store their pebbles.

Tuesday 21st July: Fairy and Elf Gourd Homes, Fairy and Wizard Wands and Gemstone Sculptures/Jewellery
Children will delight in creating a little elf or fairy home using a gourd. After a short treasure hunt the children will make a piece of simple sculpture or jewellery using copper wire and several of the gem stones they have found.

These art activities engage children with nature in a way that develops a quest for knowledge, a foundation of respect and gratitude, and an appreciation for all life.

This journey helps children discover the wonder and adventure that can be found everywhere, it helps develop the creative mind … and they find strength through a deeper connection to our natural world.

Educating the Heart through Nature Art develops skills that help our children grow into strong, grounded adults who walk through life with a sense of confidence and respect for both ourselves and our environments.

Wednesday 22nd July : Pond-life – Stepping Stones and Nature Journals

A short walk to observe the wildlife in a pond. The class will design and paint their very own tree disc stepping stones using their ideas and sketches from the pond visit. (delightful pages to add to Nature Journals)

Thursday 23rd July : Miro Creatures on Canvas
Joan Miro is one of my favorite artists. I love the simplicity of his work, playful and child-like. The creatures in his art are made of flowing, curvy shapes. In this class, we will discover a little bit about the famous Spanish artist Miro and his love of nature and colourful work. The class will be invited to create their own creature painting on canvas using Earth Paint.
