OWLS-4

SUNDAY 23rd AUGUST

Chipmunk-1

Chipmunks, Doves and lots of bugs were spotted on our morning hike through the forest.

But we were in for a real treat on our evening trek. My husband and youngest son Sam had spotted a pair of Owls several times this year but I had never seen them until last Friday evening. Unfortunately it was too dark and didn’t get a good look at the stunning bird.

So come Sunday evening , we headed out early, with our camera and binoculars to see if we could spot the Owls.

OWLS5

What a Thrill…I spotted him.

There in front of me, sat this large magnificent Owl. Sitting proud, almost in slow motion, he turned his head and looked up at us, as if  to say- whats all the fuss about!

OWLS-3

He was just like the Wise Old Owl that Lucy the Butterfly Girl and all her little Humbug friends visit to hear enchanting stories of the ancient forest.

OWLS-2

I wished by zoom lense was as powerful as my binoculours…Never mind, I got up close with my Wise Old Owl and happily admit, my family and I are completly hooked on bird watching.
