Garden Fun – Early Potatoes

by Marghanita on April 19, 2009

Thunderstorm over, able to plant the early potatoes. Our eldest (16 yrs) dug the holes and really got into the whole spirit of things and our youngest joined in plopping the potatoes budded side up. We are going to grow some potatoes in a pot too to see how they fair -not everyone has access to a yard/garden.
Our daughter is documenting the progress of our vegetable patch this year and will add her finding to the Little Humbugs “Chloe the Gardener” section later this month.

Chloe the Butterfly Girl Gardener

Chloe the Gardener makes sure everyone is eating a healthy diet by providing fruit and vegetables for all the Humbugs. Everything is freshly picked from her Organic gardens in the forest.

Although we have had a raspberry patch for 4 years and our peach trees were planted 3 years ago, the vegetable patch is our first serious attempt at it and we’re all really excited.
We have been growing organic carrots, peas, tomatoes and sunflowers in pots over the last few weeks and they look great. We’re now ready to sew the same organic seeds outside to see how they fair.
Keep you posted.
