This is powerful and true. However, I believe the future is looking bright for this endangered species.

WE ARE NATURE. Children (and adults) need nature in their lives in order to be happy, healthy, well balanced beings. We are all becoming more aware of the importance of spending time outdoors in nature.

This endangered species is worth saving don’t you think? Real change is in the heart.

Over the last few years, I have had the pleasure of witnessing wonderful changes in the way children are spending their time and it fills we with great hope for the future. A huge thank you from the depths of my heart, to all the wonderful parents, grand-parents, individuals and organizations that are keeping this incredible species from extinction. You make my heart sing.

Wishing you all a beautiful weekend in nature, love and peace, Marghanita xx

Hi Marghanita — Nice post…and wonderful quote! You’re an inspiration to so many, not just for the work you do with and for kids, but for your impassioned expression of those values, both on-line and in your books. Thank you!!
Please don’t trivialise the concept of endangered species. Children are not a species, nor are they endangered. 200 species go extinct every day at our hands. That is: they die, for ever, after millions of years of existence.
Dear Andy, thank you so much for your comment. Indeed, there are many plants, animals and insects sadly disappearing at an alarming rate. I do appreciate what you are saying. This is partly what drives me to do the work that I do. If you knew me Andy, you would know I would most definitely not trivialize this matter. However, children are a species, an incredibly important species and if we do not return our children to the outdoors, not only are they in danger, the planets very existence is in danger too. Each species is as important as the next. We are all connected, what we do to one we do to all. We are nature. We need nature and nature needs us. My mission is to return our children to Mother Earth in the hope that they will grow to love her and protect her in the future…(protecting the endangered species you mention)……….creating harmony and balance once more.
From one nature lover to another, I wish you a beautiful day, love and peace, Marghanita xx
