We all experience stressful days, moments when we feel overwhelmed. And sometimes just hearing these words “everything will be okay” can be reassuring and a source of hope.

This little watercolour was inspired by my very old woollen jumper that my mother bought me many moons ago from a wonderful shop in Edinburgh, my home city. The cardigan is like a comforter, it has travelled with me everywhere and reminds me of my homeland, the Scottish countryside and my beautiful mother. My mother turned 96 this year. She lives back in Scotland and I miss not being able to hold her in my arms, however I do get to speak with her almost every day and today we laughed, cried and sang one her songs she wrote when I was a child.
I felt a great sense of peace and joy while painting and reflecting on past memories of Scotland, family and future. Everything WILL be okay. All is good.
